Casting: NTW & Oily Cart - Splish Splash
29 November 2017
National Theatre Wales & Oily Cart are casting for SPLISH SPLASH, a complex needs show.
Oily Cart has an international reputation for its work with young people with complex learning disabilities. We are looking for wonderful performers for a new hydro-pool production. The show will be created in collaboration with National Theatre of Wales as part of NHS70, a month-long festival, inspired by some of the founders, staff and patients of this extraordinary institution.
SPLISH SPLASH is a multi-sensory, underwater production exclusively for children and young people with sensory impairments, performed in hydropools, in hospitals and schools across Wales. There will be three versions: one for those with profound and multiple learning disabilities, another for those on the autism spectrum, and a third for the deafblind. Our aim is to present a watery wonderland, a magical space where every sense is delighted. Hydro-therapy pools will be transformed by underwater lighting, clouds of bubbles drifting from below, curtains of perfumed spray, and live music played on floating pipes, with a sound that can be felt as much as heard.
We’re looking for performers with terrific singing voices, who are comfortable in the pool. Performers should be prepared to develop close-up communication skills.
We encourage applications from people of colour.
Salary: £525.30 per week, plus per diems and accommodation provided whilst on tour.
